1000sqm Epoxy Resin Flooring Installed for Aerospace Engineering Facility in Preston
Location: Preston
Sector: Aerospace Engineering
System Used: ACL -Prime DPM and ACL-Coat HB with Traction scatter
Floor Area: 1000m²
Duration: Completed within schedule
This project was our third installation for this aerospace engineering client in Preston. As with previous phases, the priority was a high-performance floor that is hardwearing, slip resistant and easy to keep clean. The customer needed a reliable surface that supports both daily foot traffic and the movement of equipment across a busy production environment.
Surface Preparation
We began by diamond grinding the full 1000sqm slab. This removed contamination and old coatings, opened the surface for better adhesion and revealed areas that needed repair.
Our team then carried out targeted remediation including:
filling bolt holes
joint repairs
patching damaged concrete screed
Ensuring the substrate is sound is always the foundation of a long-lasting resin installation.
Moisture-Tolerant DPM Primer
Because of moisture readings in the slab, we applied ACL-Prime DPM, a moisture-tolerant epoxy damp-proof primer. This seals the concrete and prevents future issues such as blistering or delamination.
Two-Coat High Build Epoxy System
Once primed, the floor received two coats of ACL-Coat HB, our two-pack high build epoxy coating.
To improve safety under foot, we introduced a controlled traction scatter, providing the client with a slip-resistant finish suitable for engineering workflows.
A Clean, Durable and Professional Finish
The completed floor delivers:
a uniform, clean, modern appearance
high abrasion resistance
improved grip
easy maintenance for the client’s facilities team
This repeat project reflects the trust the customer places in our systems and workmanship, and we’re proud to support the growth of their Preston site.
